Andrew Lewis
Hello, I'm Andrew, and this is my second year on Team 3568 ICE Wolves. I am a programmer, as well as head builder and driver.
At a young age, mechanical toys have always been my favorite. I never cared for stuffed animals or action figures because they weren't maleable. I prefered to engineer my own toys; and at the time, the best toy for that was LEGOS. Using parts of all shapes and forms, I could create anything I wanted -- and unlike other toys, LEGOS grew with me. As my mind evolved in complexity, so did my inventions. Simple buildings became complex factories, and static items became dynamic mechanisms. Though the intensity of the problems increased, I wanted nothing more in the world than to create. Each problem that I solved would become a new accomplishment; a new victory. At my current age of sixteen, not only do I work with plastic bulding blocks, but with metals, fibers, elastics, glues, and a multitude of tools. Through the Robotix program, I am able to pursue my passion for innovation; a passion that I will continue to persue in the fields of engineering for years to come. |
